Why It Can Be Smarter to Buy Your Bowls Pre-Loved

Buying lawn bowls doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Second-hand lawn green bowls are a smart, budget-friendly alternative to buying brand new. Whether you’re a beginner looking for your first set or you are looking to expand your current inventory, we are here to help. So, let’s find out more about pre-loved bowls and how much they cost in comparison to ones that are brand new.

Why Choose Second-Hand Bowls?

Let’s start with the big question: why buy second-hand bowls in the first place? It’s easy to assume that when it comes to lawn bowls gear, buying brand new is always the better option. For newer players, though, this can be quite the investment, especially when you're still figuring out your preferred size and playing style. If you’re still developing your technique, it makes sense to experiment. Plus, when you do find your ideal set-up, you’ll know exactly what to look for if you decide to buy new in the future.

What Affects the Price of Our Lawn Bowls?

Like with any second-hand item, the price of pre-owned lawn bowls depends on their condition. This is where our handy grading system comes in. All of our pre-loved lawn bowls will carry one of the following grades:

  •         Grade A: This is as close as you can get to brand-new condition. They may show signs of use and have some marks, but these will be minimal.

  •         Grade B: Bowls with this grading may show signs of light use and have light markings.

  •         Grade C: These bowls will show signs of use and have some marks from this, but will be more than adequate to use.

Grading our bowls is an extremely nuanced process. Our Grade A bowls will always be as close to new as you can find, and will be within the date stamp. Some Grade B bowls may also be as new, but outside of the date stamp, bumping them down into the lower category.

A Team You Can Trust

When you are buying your lawn bowls second-hand, you want to know exactly what you’re getting. That’s where we stand apart from many of our competitors. All our pre-loved bowls are purchased and then thoroughly checked by our pro bowler Mark Royal, so you can be sure that they are of the highest quality.

All of the photos you see are of the actual bowls you will receive, and we will provide all the details you need to make your purchase with total confidence. We’ll always be honest about any marks or signs of wear, so there will be no nasty surprises when your lawn bowls arrive.
